Hey, I have another on display for jewelry. It's not my most innovative idea but it's a quickie. I was at my local Michael's craft store and picked up a few jewelry storage for my closet because there was a 30% off sale. I couldn't resist a great deal and not spending hours making something to store my jewelry.
Anyways, I came across this black hand display that is made out of polyresin material. It's like an art piece to display or elegantly display rings and bracelets. This is perfect for my office desk because I tend to take all my rings and bracelets office when editing. I hate that feeling of my knuckle rings failing off as I type, or my bracelets banging on the keyboard so this little hand did the trick. Plus, it cost me $3.50 with the sale. It's usually price at about $5 dollars so it's not expensive to makeover.
I love gold! Gold looks so elegant and glam to me so I coat this with gold spray paint and a gloss coating to protect it from chipping. I had some left over from previous projects.
With spray paint, always follow the direction that is on the back of the can and let it dry in between each coast for about 15 to 20 minutes. This gold spray paint wasn't the brightest gold finish so I recommend this brand, Krylon 18 Karat Gold.
It took two hours to wait for the paint to completely dry before displaying. Isn't is gorgeous? Looks like solid gold!
